Several dispense taps for beertaps
When you are looking for a dispense tap for your beertap or dispense tower than you have several kinds of dispense taps. In this blog we will explain the several models to help you choose the right tap for your beertap or dispense tower. First of all you have the option of the finishing of the tap which is chrome plated, PVD plated or stainless steel. After choosing the right finishing of the tap you have the option for a compensator tap or a free flow tap. Taps without a compensator are also known as free flow taps, these taps work the same as a ball-valve. These taps can stay open when pouring your beer so you can pour more beers quickly after each other. Most common size for the threaded screwing of the tap is 5/8" outerthread. Rarely you will see taps with a 1/2" outerthread screwing but that is not common.
Compensator taps
Compensator taps are dispense taps from which you can adjust the flow of your beer / beverage. By default all the taps on a Lindr beertap or dispense tower are compensator taps. The compensator taps from Lindr are chrome plated, PVD plated or stainless steel taps. Big advantage of compensator taps is that by adjusting the flow of your beer you can always pour a good beer in every situation. When you are pouring special beers or craft beers the usage of a compensator tap is highly recommended due to the fact that these beers can react different on change in temperature or CO2 pressure.
Stainless steel taps
When you are going to pour other beverages instead of beer like wine, premixt cocktails, sparkling water, prosecco's or kombucha's you need a stainless steel tap. The acidity of these beverages is much higher than beer which will affect the chrome or PVD layer in the long term. Stainless steel taps are much better resistant against these higher acidity. You can also pour beers with stainless steel taps so with a stainless steel tap you have a wider range of possibilities. There are also taps with a chrome or PVD layer with a stainless steel core. These taps are also suitable for pouring beverages with the higher acidity as the beverage doesn't get in contact with the chrome or PVD layer. The chrome or PVD layer is only for finishing to give the tap a good esthetic look.
Sizes of threaded screwing for taps
As said in the beginning of this blog post the most common size for the tap thread is 5/8" outerthread. By default Lindr beertaps and dispense towers all have dispense taps with 5/8" outerthread and a length of 35mm. If you have another kind of dispense tower you can have another length of the outerthread. In these cases you can work with an adjusting ring 5/8" incombination with a transit tube to assemble the tap in your dispense tower and connect it properly. Rarely you can have a 1/2" outerthread for your dispense tower but this is not common.
